As a grants consultant embedded in Idaho’s nonprofit sector, my thought partner Natalia (not pictured) and I have the privilege of working with organizations that tackle some of our state’s most pressing social and economic issues. Through my firm, Premio Services, we provide transformational grants services, including: grant readiness; research; writing; management; group training; and coaching. We empower nonprofits to enhance their capacity and impact, thus helping create thriving communities throughout Idaho.

A highlight of our engagement with the Boise Metro Chamber is participating in their annual “Operation Thank You” event. This day is a unique opportunity for members of the Chamber to express our appreciation to the businesses and organizations that make up our vibrant community. As we deliver thank-you packets, we are not just handing out materials; we are building connections, fostering a spirit of gratitude, and reinforcing the values that make our Chamber and city thrive.

Connection and Appreciation

Operation Thank You is a signature event of the Boise Metro Chamber, designed to acknowledge and thank members for their support and contributions. The packets delivered are carefully curated to include important Chamber information, the newest Spotlight Magazine, and other materials that highlight the benefits and opportunities available to Chamber members.

The Spotlight Magazine is particularly noteworthy as it contains informative articles, demographic information, and a comprehensive member list. This publication is a testament to the strength and resilience of our local businesses and nonprofits, who contribute so much to the economic and social fabric of Boise and our surrounding region.

The Power of Member Engagement

At the heart of Operation Thank You is the concept of member engagement, one of the four core areas that the Boise Metro Chamber focuses on, along with Economic Vitality, Advocacy, and Member Education. Engaging with members, listening to their needs, and celebrating their achievements are essential components of the Chamber’s mission. This event is a tangible expression of that commitment, bringing together Chamber staff, volunteers, and members in a day of mutual appreciation and camaraderie.

For me, as a grants consultant and business owner, this event is an opportunity to connect with other members, new or known businesses and organizations, and explore potential collaborations. The conversations sparked during these visits often lead to new partnerships and initiatives that strengthen our community’s social and economic well-being. It is also a chance to share the work we do at Premio Services and to highlight the importance of building capacity within the nonprofit sector.

Aligning Missions: The Chamber and Nonprofit Community

The Boise Metro Chamber’s focus on Economic Vitality, Advocacy, Member Education, and Member Engagement closely aligns with the work we do at Premio Services. Our firm is dedicated to helping nonprofits achieve sustainability and growth through effective grant strategies and capacity-building initiatives. By participating in Operation Thank You, we reaffirm our commitment to these shared goals and values.

  1. Economic Vitality is about creating an environment where businesses and organizations can thrive. The Chamber’s efforts in this area include advocating for policies that support business growth, providing networking opportunities, and offering resources for professional development. At Premio Services, we contribute to this vitality by helping nonprofits secure the funding they need to deliver critical services and programs. At the core of this work is relationship building. We support the broader economic ecosystem by enabling organizations to expand their reach through relationships with funders.
  2. Advocacy is another core area where the Chamber and our work intersect. The Chamber advocates for the interests of its members at the local, state, and national levels, ensuring that the voice of the business community is heard. Similarly, we advocate for the nonprofit sector, raising awareness of the challenges and opportunities faced by organizations working on the front lines of social change. Through our grants services, we help nonprofits articulate their needs and goals by positioning them for success. We do this internally through more efficient operations, and externally in a competitive funding landscape.
  3. Member Education is another crucial component of both the Chamber’s and Premio Services’ missions. The Chamber offers a variety of educational programs and resources to help members stay informed and build their skills. In our work with nonprofits, we provide training and coaching on grant research, management, and other critical areas. We help foster more effective and sustainable impact by equipping organizations with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they truly need.
  4. Member Engagement is about fostering a sense of community and belonging. Operation Thank You is a prime example of this engagement in action. The sense of connection through expressing appreciation is vital to our collective success; it encourages collaboration, mutual support, and a shared commitment to our community’s well-being.

Operation Thank You is a day that encapsulates the spirit of community engagement, allowing us to celebrate our shared achievements and look forward to the future with optimism and determination.

The Joy of Giving Back

One of the most rewarding aspects of Operation Thank You is the joy of giving back. Chamber members receive numerous benefits throughout the year, from networking opportunities to professional development resources. This event is our chance to give something back and say thank you to the businesses and organizations that make our community vibrant and strong.

The act of delivering thank-you packets may seem small, but it carries significant meaning. It is a gesture of appreciation and a way to strengthen relationships, foster goodwill, and build a more connected and supportive community.

For us at Premio Services, the spirit of giving back for the greater good is at the core of everything we do.

Whether we are helping a nonprofit secure a critical grant or volunteering at a Chamber event, we are committed to making a positive impact in our beloved community.

At Premio Services, we are proud to be part of the Boise Metro Chamber and to participate in events like Operation Thank You.

Thank you to the Boise Metro Chamber for organizing this wonderful event, and to all the members who make our community strong. We look forward to another year of working together, building connections, and making a lasting positive impact in Boise and beyond.
